What
is Waaf?
We
are a Community Outreach Organization
For the Community of McCall and Surrounding Areas
Our Mission is to Create Strong Connected Families Within
Our Community
We came into being in October 2001 out of Community Need
We are a State of Idaho Non-Profit Corporation [501(3)c]
since March 2002
Waaf
began and continues its efforts through various activities
such as sending under-privileged children to Summer Camp,
sponsoring your sports teams, and working with other outreach
and support programs within the McCall community to provide
healthy and safe activity alternatives for people of all
ages.
In
March 2002, we opened a Thrift Store, currently next to
Subway on Highway 55. It is entirely run by volunteer
staff where all items sold are received as donations.
Waaf Thrift Store operations, volunteers, and donations
are doubling approximately every six months. This operation
supports our current community outreach efforts and allows
Waaf to build the seed money for our Aquatic Recreation
Center fund raising efforts. The future goal of the Thrift
Store will be support for the Center.
This
bring us to the major goal of Waaf, Inc. Waaf conducted
a survey of local residents with children in the McCall-Donnelly
school district, after receiving and 80%+ response rate,
it became clear that a single facility, such as an Aquatic
Recreation Center, would meet a large percentage of the
community desires. This Center will also provide a location
for our continued outreach programs. This facility will
be patterned after a YMCA and will be made available to
all who want to enjoy the benefits offered.
Thank
You for your time and support.
