Waaf,
Inc. has an audacious goal! The community of McCall has
clearly expressed its desire for a facility of this type
and have been rallying in support of Waaf's efforts thus
far. We opened the Waaf Thrift Store and the phenomenal
growth of volunteers, donations, and sales have provided
the seed money for the fundraising efforts to build this
facility.
Statistics
throughout the country have shown that healthy activities
for our teens reduce drop-out rates, teen pregnancy rates,
petty crimes and more serious offenses. Medical research
shows a variety of activities such as swimming, running
and cardio fitness improve the health overall of a community.
Team sports, educational support, and mentoring have statistically
proven to develop our young people into productive society
members. The community, from law enforcement to medical
professionals to parents and care-givers, have rallied
in support of Waaf's efforts to build this facility. Current
estimates indicate a $6,500,000 budget and proposed ground
breaking as soon as we secure our land.
